I come from a large family: three sisters, 15 cousins, and four grandparents who all enjoy getting together for holiday festivities. So I felt right at home at this large family photo shoot over the weekend. With four generations all in one house, they must have had a festive Thanksgiving! Here's a sneak peek from our morning shoot.
I love this picture of all the cousins!
All the grandchildren
Isn't a grandmother's (and great grandmother's!) hand a beautiful thing? I can't wait to post the others from this series. Thanks to Jackie for recommending this.
The title to this post doesn't really apply anymore since this lovely couple is now married, but these photos were taken the night before their big day at their rehearsal dinner at Pracna in Minneapolis. Funny story, the bride (who also attended St. Olaf) was born in my hometown way out in Lawrenceville, New Jersey!
Enjoy the two collages I put together (below) with a few snippets from the night. They food was amazing and the historic building was the perfect backdrop for their cozy evening. Congrats Julia and Chris!
You've already seen sneak peek photos here and here, and now you can watch the final slideshow!
This cute family knows a thing or two about long-distance relationships, since the grandparents live down in St. Louis, where they're all originally from. I had a blast capturing their happy reunion at Minnehaha Falls earlier this fall.
Here are a few more gems from my photo shoot a few weeks ago at Minnehaha Falls. The waterfall itself was pretty much dried up, but there were so many other picturesque spots - like the trellis walkway you'll see in multiple shots! I'll have the rest of these done soon, but as a teaser ... err, I guess this is the second teaser ... here are a few more of my favorites.
Some final photos from my shoot down at St. Anthony Falls - and a slideshow! I love the task of coming up with the perfect song to accompany a set of photos, but I was at a loss with this one. I went through every song in my iTunes folder and couldn't find anything that was happy and peppy enough, with a good moving beat. Gotta have that for pics of kids. Then I called my sister who nailed it on her first recommendation. Scroll down to find out what song!
I've been busy editing photos for a few different fall sessions, and although I don't have this one completely finished, I thought I'd post a few more of my favorites (first batch can be found here). More photos and a slideshow coming soon. Now, who's ready for a leaf fight?!
Here's a peek at my latest photo shoot taken on a warm fall evening at Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis. The grandparents were headed back to St. Louis the next day, so it was a treat to capture their last evening together. Can't wait to edit the rest!
I love taking pictures of kids, especially this fun duo. I had a great time chasing them around (sometimes quite literally!) the other night down at St. Anthony Main - up trees, through leaf piles, across the bridge .... Here are a couple of my favorites so far:
Love the pout. I believe this was after a leaf fight with big brother. I have plenty of happy/smiley photos too!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from our photo shoot last weekend down on the ol' family farm. I had a great time running around with Evan's cousin Blaine before the sun set!
... and just for fun, here are some of my other subjects from the night:
My first newborn session was for my bookclub friend Heidi. She's the first in our group to become a mom and it was fun having a baby sit with us tonight as we discussed our book and chowed down on some awesome food (thanks Rach!). Although she slept peacefully tonight, the morning I visited them in little Addy's nursery (at 13 days old, I believe), she didn't want to part with her mommy or take a nap long enough to fall into a deep slumber. But I had fun hanging out with them and capturing them in real life, with lots of mommy-Addy snuggles and a few bouts of tears. In the end I'm happy that Heidi is in as many photos as Addy because really these are some first portraits for her too, as a new mom.
Enjoy the photos, Heidi and Eric, and scroll down to view the slideshow!
Turn up the volume - there's music! We were actually listening to music during most of this photo shoot, although Addy's taste in music is more of the lively sort. ; )
(note: photos look better quality in picture form than they do in movie)
Music: Latika's Theme, from Slumbdog Millionaire. Yes, I used this song for my cousin's wedding last summer!
My sister is getting married!!! Scott proposed to Kirsten in NYC last Christmas and the rest of my family was lucky enough to be in the city at the time and could meet up with them afterwards. Such a great evening.
They are planning a April 13, 2013 wedding in St. Louis where they currently live, so I flew down there over Mother's Day weekend to take some pictures ... and to partake in some other fun wedding planning activities, like cake tasting! Mmmm : )
My mom also flew in to share some quality time with two of her four daughters, so we enjoyed relaxing in the park, eating World's Fair Donuts, and having a fun little photo shoot of our own (check it out here)
But on to the good stuff. The engagement photo shoot! I had such a blast touring the city with these two lovebirds. We hit up Tower Grove Park and the old stone structures there, walked around the Botanical Gardens, and went crazy running and jumping around at the Arch like six-year-olds.
